Barton Tufnol TUPHblox: Durable Blocks for Sailing, Industrial and Classic Vessel Applications
Tufnol is a unique multi-layer, fabric-laminated, resin-bonded material that is heated and compressed to the required thickness during manufacturing. This distinctive construction process results in blocks that withstand the demanding performance and environmental standards required by sailing yachts, commercial applications and industrial users alike. Because Tufnol is non-conductive, it's also the ideal choice for use in explosive environments and hot air balloons.
The TUPHblox range combines the strength of Tufnol with stainless steel and brass components, resulting in blocks that are both lightweight and exceptionally strong. In 2023, Barton resumed manufacturing of Tufnol blocks, returning to its retro roots to support the needs of classic and heritage vessels worldwide, alongside commercial and industrial users.
TUPHblox blocks are built with 316 marine-grade stainless steel components and brass bearings. The result is a durable line of blocks and hardware that delivers high rolling loads, superior strength and durability, and resistance to UV and weathering that lasts the lifetime of the product. While the range includes dedicated wire blocks, even the rope variants are compatible with wire rope.
